Reader’s Question:
What is an SR22 insurance in South Dakota? I heard it is expensive? How do you get affordable SR22 insurance?
Molly
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
If you have been convicted with any serious traffic infractions such as driving under the influence, no insurance, vehicular accident, and reckless driving, you will be required to prove to South Dakota State, for three years, that you are insured. The form that is used as a proof of insurance to the state is called SR22 South Dakota. This is the only valid form for your suspended license to be reinstated.
It is your duty to notify your auto insurance company the soonest possible time if you are required by the state to carry an SR22 South Dakota. It is your insurance company that will testify to South Dakota state that you are currently covered by their insurance policy.
Your SR22 filing must be maintained continuously for a minimum of three years from the date you are convicted. If you happen to change your vehicle or your insurance company with in the minimum three year holding period of your SR22 coverage, you need to request for a re-filing of your SR22. If in such cases wherein your insurance company cancels your SR22 filing at anytime during the three year period, your license will automatically be re-suspended. You will again be required to pay the amount of $50.00 as your reinstatement fee.
SR22 insurance in South Dakota is normally expensive compared to other types of insurances since a lot of risks is involved here. SR22 filing is issued to high risk motorists caught for serious traffic infractions as mentioned above. Since SR22 filing is for high risk drivers, it does not anymore come shocking to anyone why most car insurance companies often charge terribly high rates for this type of insurance. Insurers are even more stringent with SR22 drivers that they can automatically get your SR22 filing suspended if you fail to pay your premium on time.
Mississippi SR22 Car Insurance
Reader’s Question:
My partner and I just moved here in Mississippi and I would like to know more information regarding SR22 car insurance that is being required for me to get. Thanks a lot.
Fred
Jackson, MS
I can tell you the basics that I know regarding the SR22 car insurance. However you can always contact Mississippi Department of Public Safety for more detailed information.
In the State of Mississippi it is illegal to operate motor vehicles, motorcycles, mopeds or golf carts on Mississippi roadways without proper liability insurance coverage. In addition to that, it is also illegal for any motor vehicle owner to permit anyone else to drive the car without insurance.
There are required minimum liability insurance coverage for the State of Mississippi as 25/50/25. This means: $25,000 bodily injury for one person in one accident, $50,000 for two or more persons in one accident, and $25,000 property damage incurred in one accident.
If you accumulate certain number of violations, such as reckless driving, driving under the influence (DUI) or (DWI), or refusal to test, at fault accidents or driving uninsured, the state may require you to obtain an SR22 insurance to the states DPS. The Department of Pubic Safety will mandate proof of financial responsibility in the form of SR-22 insurance. This insurance is also known as high-risk car insurance for some SR22 filing companies in MS. If you need to get this type of insurance, you may contact car insurance companies and see if they offer this.

Reader’s Question:
I just bought a new car in Baltimore, Maryland, and I’m shopping around for an affordable insurance policy. I heard advice from friends to get a higher deductible to lower the cost of my premium. Should I take their advice?
Gerry
Baltimore, MD
If you think you have what it takes to be a responsible driver, you may want to think about increasing your deductibles to lower you car insurance premium payments. When I say deductibles, this is the amount you will personally have to shell out for any repairs or payments on your insurance claim. In one scenario, for example, if you have set your deductible to be $500, and you will need to have the car repaired for $2000 through your insurance claim, you will first have to pay your $500 share while your insurance company will pay for the remaining $1500 balance of the bill. A higher deductible might just be the key to getting your premium to your desired level. It will also make you think twice if you ever come up with the idea of driving down the freeway fast and furious style in Baltimore, Maryland. Please note however, that you should only offer to pay a deductible amount that is within your budget or capacity to pay if ever an unfortunate event does happen. Otherwise, your plan to save by getting a more affordable insurance premium will backfire since you will end up paying for most of the repair expenses out of your own pocket.

Gay friendly SR22 insurance filing
For most people, it isn’t time to think about their gay friendly SR22 insurance filing until it comes time to renew their licenses. With this attitude of procrastination, though, they could be in for a big suprise. Once they get to that day when they are suddenly eligible to reinstate their license, they go to their car insurance company to ask for an SR22 form to be filed, only to find that they are being cancelled for it, and even if they aren’t, it will take between 48 hours and 3o days for the form to be filed. So, before you get surprised, here’s how the process works.
When you go to file SR22 insurance, you will usually get your SR22 form one of two ways. Either your car insurance company will mail it to you, or they will make it available for you on their website so that you can print it out. Some companies allow you to sign it electronically. For some companies, if you sign it electronically, then they will submit it online. This is the quickest process for gay friendly SR22 insurance filing. If you have to print it out or wait for it in the mail, then you will either mail it back to your insurance company, who will then mail it to the DMV, or you will have to take it up to the DMV yourself. Ask your company about how they do the process and how quickly BEFORE you buy a policy with them.
Online gay friendly SR22
Online gay friendly SR22 quotes should be the first stepping stone on your journey to purchase an SR22 car insurance policy. You can find these in every nook and corner of the internet, and preferably you should go to a website which allows you to enter your information into a simple form and finally arrive at quotes from several different companies. It’s quick and easy price comparison, and makes it much easier to get cheaper insurance than it is if you do it the slow way.
If you purchase your gay friendly SR22 online, then you can also save money, so long as you buy it from the right company. Many companies give incentives to buy online in the form of discounts. Of course, these may not necessarily be the best companies for you, so compare quotes after discounts with what your quotes after discounts would be from other possible companies which may not have the option to buy online.
More and more companies are selling gay friendly SR22 online because it saves them money, through
-
fewer workers
-
fewer offices
-
etc.
And so, when they save money from more and more people buying online, in time they’ll hand that savings over to you. So you save in two ways when you buy online, and in one way you’re just planning savings for the future.
Gay friendly SR22 auto insurance
Repeat offenders for drunk driving and other things which cause you to be required to file gay friendly SR22 auto insurance face harder requirements than those who have only offended once. In three states, these requirements carry over the the insurance, and instead of filing SR22 forms, they file an SR22A. The three states are:
- Missouri
- Georgia
- Texas
The SR22a form has many of the same requirements as a gay friendly SR22 auto insurance policy, but in addition to those it also requires that, when the person goes to buy their SR22a policy, they pay for six months of premiums in advance.
The SR22a is also required for a period of three years in Georgia and Missouri, and for two years in Texas. It is not filed alone, but is filed jointly with the regular SR22 form.
Gay friendly SR22 coverage
As a policy holder with gay friendly SR22 coverage, you should choose your coverage levels carefully. Adding a new kind of coverage can cause your prices to shoot up by a lot, so it’s important to only buy what is absolutely necessary. The kind of car you have and how you’re paying for it could affect what you choose.
- My car is old/I have already paid off my car
Once you finish paying off your car, it may be time to take another glance at your gay friendly SR22 coverage. This doesn’t mean you should necessarily do anything, but it should depend on how much your car is worth, and considering how fast new cars depreciate, after four years of monthly payments, that may not be very much. Take a look at Kelley’s Blue Book to find out the value of your car. If it turns out to be less than $2000, you might cut yourself down to only the minimum levels of state required coverage.
- My car is new/My car is expensive/I am still paying off my car
If you have a new, expensive car, or a car you are leasing or financing, you probably want to have collision and comprehensive coverage. If you do, then you can save money by raising your deductible to at least $1000, but preferably more.
